Mr. Daniel Murphy has been a teacher at Abington High School for two years. However, he has been teaching for five years in the classroom and has been a substitute for eight.

He went to Bridgewater State University for his undergrad degree and just finished his Masters degree at Fitchburg State University.

Murphy cares about student success. He said, “My goal for my students is to help them achieve the absolute best they can and to leave with a greater interest in school than they came in with.”

Abington High was a place Murphy wanted to work. He said, “It was a really easy commute and I have been going up and down Route 18 my entire life and seeing the GWP [Green Wave Pride] stickers everywhere. It is just a really tight community with a lot of pride. And I wanted to be a part of it.”

When asked what his favorite memory at Abington High School has been, Murphy said, “That’s a tough one to answer because I haven’t had a normal experience here, since COVID hit in the middle of the year [last year]. But probably the pep rally, because I grew up in Weymouth and we didn’t do that. And I thought it was a really cool experience.”
