There are many reasons to join a club. Mr. Brian Lanner, the advisor of Abington High School’s Anti-Bullying Club (ABC) said, “Becoming more involved in the school community will help foster community awareness involvement as adults.”

On Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 9:40 am to 10:25 am the ABC will hold a Club Fair. Students will have the opportunity to log on to Teams and learn about the clubs offered at AHS. Each club will have a representative to talk about what that club does and how to join.

Wednesday’s meetings will be held in five-minute increments and provide students with knowledge of different extracurricular options.

The schedule will be as follows:

  • 9:40 am to 9:50 am            Introduction
  • 9:50 am – 9:55 am             Anti-Bullying Club (ABC)
  • 9:55 am – 10:00 am           Green Wave Gazette
  • 10:00 am – 10:05 am         Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC)
  • 10:05 am – 10:10 am          Gay Straight Club (GSA)
  • 10:10 am – 10:15 am           Academic Center for Enrichment (ACE)
  • 10:15 am – 10:20 am          Peer Leaders
  • 10:20 am – 10:25 am         Questions/Comments

Lanner said,  “The goal of the Club Fair is to bring about awareness to the students of AHS, as to what we offer in extracurricular activities.  We have a lot to offer as far as diversity in club activities.”
