“The Maze Runner,” the movie based on James Dashner’s New York Times bestselling science fiction series, hit theaters on September 19. The action packed movie stars Dylan O’Brien, who plays Thomas, a 16-year-old boy mysteriously brought to a maze, who has no recollection of how he got there or any of his past. He is greeted by male teenagers that are just as confused and are also trying to find a way out of the maze.

No one has ever survived a night in the maze, so the runners are trying to figure out how to get out successfully. Thomas is already frightened when he first steps into the safe area outside called the “Glade.” He doesn’t know what is in store for him, but he is more curious than all the other boys. His curiosity could help lead the boys to a way out, or it could end up killing them.

“The Maze Runner” does Dashner’s book justice. Director Wes Ball does a nice job of keeping the details similar, and the plot and characters stay true as well. The actors do very well, making the movie seem very intense. The lighting and background are impressive, and the special effects help make the movie stand out.

See the “The Maze Runner.” It is very entertaining and stays true to the book. Teenagers will like the movie because it has science fiction, action and adventure. It’s also quite suspenseful, making you wonder what will happen next. “The Maze Runner” is a dramatic and eye-catching movie. It’s also rated PG13 for grotesque images and violence.
