Going for a walk on the beach is a great way to “Be Happy Today!”

Throughout the past 18 months, we as humans have all gone through collective trauma. Lockdown and the months that followed were very difficult times. Some have found it hard to find a reason to stay strong, and are struggling to find ways to keep going.

As we all have been trying to get back into the swing of busy schedules and loads of stress, it has left many of us looking for a way to bring back some positivity in our lives.

We at the Green Wave Gazette have all came to the realization that sometimes all that is needed on our bad days is a reason to “Be Happy”! A small reminder of why we should keep smiling, or something to keep us pushing through the tough days is something we all could use a bit of!

Daily, we would like to spread the kindness and happiness here at Abington High School with the “Be Happy Today!” initiative. We welcome everyone to submit a reason why they are happy today to upload here on the Green Wave Gazette website.

Whether the reason you are happy today is because Abington Highschool’s football team won a big game, or because leaves are changing colors and autumn is on the way, we want to hear about it!

The intent for this project is to spread any compassion and positivity for all to appreciate. There are so many reasons to be thankful and happy that otherwise would be easily overlooked. This project is a great way to recognize those reasons and to build others up in any way we can. With your help, we can all shed some positive light during these stressful times!

Special thanks to Abington High School graduate and former Editor-in-Chief, Abby Joyce, for starting this great project during her time at the Green Wave Gazette. She is graciously allowing us to continue this project and we hope to bring the same impact as the “Be Happy Today!” project did to Abington High School in 2020.

Please send any submissions to [email protected] for your reason to be published here! Simple phrases or a few words are more than welcomed and in addition, please let us know if you would like your name to be mentioned in the article as well. We hope to hear from you all soon!
