Since the start of 2018, some major fashion shifts have occurred. Slim and skinny fitting clothing items have been beginning to stray further away from today’s trends allowing the start of more bulky and chunky silhouettes.

Brands such as Balenciaga and Gucci have each swayed in the direction of loose fitting clothes during their F/W and S/S 18 collections.

Alongside the loose fitting trend, large puffer jackets, handbags, and sneakers of various materials and colors have been seen on the runway within the duration of this current trend. These all tie into the same umbrella term of “bigger is better” that major fashion labels have been marketing their clothes under since January.

The overall focal point of these major switches is to change and push the current boundaries of fashion to introduce new looks and shapes to refresh the trends and open up another creative chapter.
