“Nerve,” an action-packed techno-thriller, struck theaters on July 27 and was recently released for Blu-Ray and DVD on October 25. Last summer, theaters across the country were mobbed with teenagers intrigued by the new movie, starring Dave Franco, Emma Roberts and Juliet Lewis. And, now you can see it at home.

The characters are involved in a competitive online game that is also called Nerve. They have to cautiously decide whether they want to be a “watcher” or a “player.” The courageous players are challenged to complete a multitude of life-threatening dares and get the opportunity to make it to the finals and win money related prizes. Signing up as an anonymous “watcher” is still a rise in adrenaline, as you witness all the nail-biting tasks attempted by the players.

Directors Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost make a great duo, doing an extraordinary job managing this jaw-dropping and unpredictable movie. The cast manages to play their parts and execute their roles perfectly. Dave Franco, who portrays Ian, a reckless player who freely takes on dares. Franco’s acting was great; he helps the audience, especially teenage girls, (like my friends and I) stay engaged. Vee, played by Emma Roberts, teams up with Ian for the majority of the film. Roberts did equally outstanding in her role. She fit the part and made the movie realistic and exciting. The cast and crew create an entertaining movie from start to finish. Viewers’ eyes are glued to the screen at all times.

Nerve” is a fun, exhilarating, and most importantly, an original film. Whether you watch it at home or see it in a movie theater, “Nerve” is highly recommended. The movie grabs your attention and is definitely worth watching. After you see it, you can decide whether you are a watcher or a player?
