Hi everyone! My name is McKinley Houghton, and I am a member of the Green Wave Gazette. I am excited to announce this new addition to the gazette! Every week, there will be an announcement from each class president with information regarding upcoming events and fundraisers!
“Most recently the class officers for the class of 2026 have been working on planning homecoming, coming up with fun and unique spirit days, and even coming up with new fundraising ideas to help fund future events. We have been meeting to go over the plan for homecoming and the events leading up to that week. We hope to make homecoming extra fun this year, starting off with holding the dance outside at Reilly Field!” – Ava Williamson, Senior Class President
“The Class of 2027 is currently focusing on fundraising for the Junior Class Auction, which will be taking place on December 4th. We are collecting raffle and auction donations from businesses and members of the community! If you have any business connections or would like to help, contact one of the Junior Class Officers. The auction is our most important event of the year, and a successful auction will help ensure that we have a great Prom! We would like to extend our gratitude to the members of the Junior class who helped seek donations from businesses on the half day last week, and we are excited to continue our preparations for the event! Additionally, our class has some other fun events coming up, like the Pep Rally and PowderPuff, so be on the lookout for updates about those events in the upcoming months. Thank you!” – Vangie McCleary, Junior Class President
“The sophomore class just held their first fundraiser of the year at Chipotle on Monday night! It was very successful, we raised over $300, meaning we sold over $1200 worth of Chipotle! (That’s a lot of burritos!) We plan to do more events like this in the future. Thank you to everyone who came and showed your support! We are going to have an exciting year, and with homecoming and the Pep Rally coming up, we have a lot to look forward to. Thank you!” – McKinley Houghton, Sophomore Class President
Freshman Elections will be held soon
