ALICE Drills Become Common Place
On Monday, Dec. 9, the students and staff at Abington High School, along with those in the adjoined middle school and early education program, practiced another ALICE drill. It had been announced earlier through social media.
In the afternoon, students were told there was someone on Gliniewicz Way and to go into a lockdown. Teachers pulled shades, and then locked and barricaded their classroom door. The entire drill lasted 5 minutes.
After the drill, an email was sent out by school administration which explained that the practice was to prepare “in the event of a real emergency.”
