In August 2017, a new app called HQ Trivia was introduced. Every day at 9 p.m. ET and weekdays at 3 p.m. ET, you have the chance to win or split a cash prize ranging from $1,000 to $250,000! According to the contest rules, players have to be “at least 18 years old as of the date of entry.”

All you have to do is download the app, and when the show goes live, answer 12 questions within 10 seconds each. If you get all of the questions correct, you will have officially won HQ Trivia. The catch is, the questions go from insanely easy to extremely difficult, or “savage” as the hosts like to say.

You also have the option to refer friends when they download the app, which can result in you getting an extra life to use one time in a game. Every friend that uses your referral code and plays their first game gets you an extra life.

There are three hosts that rotate hosting the regular show, including Sarah Pribis, Sharon Carpenter, and a fan favorite, Scott Rogowsky. Occasionally, there are celebrity hosts, which have included Dwanye “The Rock” Johnson, Jimmy Kimmel, Blake Shelton, and Kelly Clarkson.

Recently, a new version of HQ Trivia with all sports related questions, called HQ Sports, has been created and the current host is Lauren Gambino.

Daily, about one million players clear their schedule to play this game. The few people that win usually celebrate like they’ve just won the lottery.
