5SOS, Charli XCX and Jessie J Were Tops at the Ball
Kiss 108’s Jingle Ball Concert was a Pop Music Thriller
Kiss 108’s sold out Jingle Ball Concert at TD Garden was exhilarating and full of energy. Many of the year’s top-charting artists performed, including 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS), Charli XCX and Jessie J. In all, 13 artists appeared, including special guest-host Nick Jonas. Three artists that stood out were 5 Seconds of Summer, Charli XCX, and Jessie J.
5 Seconds of Summer, or as their fans call them 5SOS, is an Australian rock-pop band consisting of four members: Luke Hemmings (lead vocals, guitar), Calum Hood (vocals, guitar), Michael Clifford (vocals, guitar) and Ashton Irwin (vocals, drums). The band closed the show, performing a total of five songs, including “Good Girls,” “Voodoo Doll,” “Amnesia,” “What I Like About You” and of course their international hit single from their debut album, “She Looks So Perfect.” Their performance definitely closed the night with a bang! They made the audience go crazy, because of their amazing sound, good looks, and huge amount of energy while performing.
Charlotte Emma Aitchison, more commonly known as Charli XCX, was one of 2014’s top pop stars. Charli is a British singer and songwriter, most famous for her hit singles “I Love It,” with Icona Pop, “Fancy,” with Iggy Azalea, and “Boom Clap.” Charli performed astoundingly well at Boston’s Jingle Ball and was certainly a crowd favorite. She performed “Fancy” (with Iggy Azalea), “Boom Clap” and several other songs from her new album “Sucker.” Charli definitely stood out with her stunning and bold outfit, and top-charting voice. She looked very confident on stage and overall crushed her performance.
Jessie J’s real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, and is an English singer and songwriter. J released her third album, “Sweet Talker” in 2014, which hit No. 5 and included one of the year’s top hit singles, “Bang Bang,” featuring pop sensation Ariana Grande and the famous American rapper Nicki Minaj. J performed “Bang Bang,” “Burnin’ Up” and a few other songs from her newest album. She performed well, showing off her incredible sense of style, insane vocal range and her confidence on stage. Her performance made the crowd go insane!
Other hit performers making an appearance included Meghan Trainor, who performed “All About That Bass” and “Lips Are Movin;'” Iggy Azalea who performed “Fancy,” “Beg For It,” “Black Widow; and Shawn Mendes who performed “Show You,” and “Life of the Party.”
Kiss 108’s Jingle Ball concert was an amazing experience, and was full of talented performers who put on an energetic and crowd-pleasing show.
