As you might have heard, the Boston Bruins are in the Stanley Cup. But will they win?

The Boston Bruins were tied in points with the Calgary Flames in the regular season. With many injuries, the Bruins still made it to the playoffs. They have a great power play and 4 on 4 action.

The Bruins went against the Maple Leafs in the first round. They barely had any offence in that first game, and ended with a 1-4 loss. In the second game, the Bruins came back, with something unexpected. Maple Leafs Nazem Kadri crossed checked Jake DeBrusk in the face! Kadri would get suspended for the rest of the playoffs with Boston. The Bruins won that match up in game 7 with a 5-1 win.

The Columbus Blue Jackets had everyone surprised when they swept the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Bruins came to play in game 1, where Charlie Coyle (an East Weymouth native) scored twice to win in overtime. Game 2 and 3, the Bruins lost. Game 4, 5, and 6 the Bruins beat the Blue Jackets to win the series.

Now, every time since 2001 when the Carolina Hurricanes make it to the playoffs, they make it to the Conference Final.  Not this time. Game 1 was easy for the Bruins, with 4 power play goals. Again, Game 2 was too easy. The Boston fans were chanting, “DOUGIE” most of the game. Dougie Hamilton, a former Bruin, fell over himself, which made the fans applaud. The Bruins won 6-2. Games 3 and 4 the Hurricanes benched their goalie from games 1 and 2. But, Boston won those games also to sweep the Canes.

The Boston Bruins are going against the St. Louis Blues in the Stanley Cup. The Blues have not made it to the Cup in 49 years. The last time the Blues did make it to the Cup, they went against the Bruins. In that match the Bruins swept them with the famous “Flying Orr” goal.

Currently the teams each have a win. In game 1 the Bruins came back to win with a score of 4-2. In game 2 on Wednesday, both teams barely played in the 2nd or 3rd period, and the Blues won 3-2. The next game is tomorrow at 8PM. Who will win?
