Fire Alarms Trigger Response
Students arrive to fire trucks outside the school
On Oct. 19 at approximately 7:00 AM the fire alarms sounded in the Abington High School, Middle School, and Pre-K Building. All students and staff evacuated immediately until the Fire Department deemed the building safe to reenter around 7:20 AM.
The alarm “was the result of an activated smoke alarm within the mechanical space,” stated Dr. Teresa Sullivan, Principal of AHS, via an email. High school students began classes ten minutes later than usual.
