Teacher Appreciation
Students Brighten up the Day for Teachers
On Tuesday, May 8, Abington High School students showed their appreciation for their teachers.
As teachers exited their cars to enter school, a group of ten students called out the teachers by name and welcomed them over. The students had a table set up with Dunkin Donuts coffee and munchkins.
When asked what gave the students the idea, one student manning the table said, “New school, new traditions.”
Once inside, the teachers found positive messages in their mailboxes.
But the appreciation did not end there. At the end of morning advisory, an announcement by students was made, thanking all of the ELA teachers. These student announcements, recognizing each department, continued between each period, thanking teachers for preparing the students with 21st century college and career skills.
It is fair to say that these frequent acts of kindness and generosity shown by AHS students are why teachers appreciate the students.
