On March 20, Amanda Fowle, the Assistant District Attorney (ADA) for Plymouth County, came to Abington to promote internet safety and tips to stay out of trouble while using social media. Fowle is the ADA Director of Human Trafficking with a law degree from Suffolk University.

Fowle showed a series of real life social media situations, many that she has dealt with, to inform Abington students how one post could land them in court or jail.

Alongside Fowle was school resource officer (SRO) Alex Kokoros who gave a further look into the law side of the consequences. SRO Kokoros explained that a picture or a video that you might not think is punishable by law could easily send you directly to prison.

Internet safety is nothing to joke about. What happens on social media should be taken seriously and it should be used appropriately by everyone.
