Trump Pulls Out Surprising Victory

Will his presidency bring us together or pull us apart?

Donald Trump surprised everyone by beating Hillary Clinton to become president elect. In Massachusetts (according to WBUR) Hillary Clinton received the most votes by far, receiving nearly 61 percent of the votes while Trump had less than 34 percent. But in Abington, it was a much closer race with Clinton taking 48 percent of the votes to Trump’s 47 percent. While Trump did poorly in the state overall, he did win a number of towns south of Abington, including the Bridgewaters, Carver, Kingston, Lakeville and Middleboro.

In the Green Wave Gazette’s informal poll (only 29 responses), Clinton received almost two thirds of the vote, while Trump about one tenth. A school wide mock election also saw Clinton with a strong majority.

Last year Nivetha Aravindan took a look at Trump’s strengths, but also why many were worried about the possibility of this eventual election. Take a look back at Nivetha’s article and think about how you feel about him today and whether or not he can bring the country together.
