Mia Regazza: A Special Place to Work (and eat)

A rewarding after school job

Kailey Campbell, Staff Writer

Mia Regazza is an Italian restaurant established in 2008 by owners John and Kristin Martin, and their three daughters Valerie, Courtney and Allison. I have been working there since June.  Since I started, my life has completely changed for the better. Before, I had no responsibilities other than chores around my house. Now I work three or four days of the week on top of school and homework.

Many high schoolers face this challenge. A difficulty I face while working is trying to fit in sports and other extracurricular activities. Mias is very accommodating to my life outside of school and will help me in whatever way they can. My coworkers have become my family and have helped make me the person that I am today.

One pro of working there is the food. It is reasonably priced and extremely delicious. One of our customers’ favorites is the lobster Regazza, however my personal favorite are the steak tips. In my opinion there is nothing like them; they make my mouth water just thinking about it.

The best thing though, would have to be the customers. The regulars that come in are amazing people and learning more and more about their lives every week makes the days so much better. Before they are even seated, there are certain people that brighten up the restaurant when they walk in. Not only does Mia Regazza have a warm and inviting environment, it is where memories are made and will forever be another home to me.
