On Tuesday May 11, the Abington Boys Lacrosse team faced off at their home turf behind Abington High School versus their talented opponent the Cohasset Skippers.

Traditionally, Abington wears white jerseys and green shorts at home. However, they showed off their new green jerseys along with green shorts.

Senior Captain Brendon Grafton said, “I liked the change. With everyone wearing green from head to toe we can really emulate Green Wave pride.”

Abington had 2 wins and 0 losses going into this game. But with Cohasset being one of the top lacrosse programs in the state, it caused some havoc for Abington.

Coach Thomas Flannigan said, “We rise to the top or we crash and burn, but we do it together.”

A hard-fought match put up by Abington was not enough to slow down the Skippers. Cohasset won the game by a big margin of 19-1.

“Cohasset is just one of those teams who always competes, it was a bad loss. We just couldn’t do anything to stop their offense,” said senior midfielder Owen Reardon. Cohasset was the toughest game on Abington’s schedule.
The team’s next home game is this Tuesday May 18 at 4PM versus Mashpee. It is not only the team’s next home game, but also their last for the season.
