David Manzo (Class of 2013) is taking it all off for charity later this month – his hair that is.  On April 23, Manzo will have his head shaved to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.  The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long, healthy lives. Manzo hopes his temporary sacrifice will raise awareness for this cause and what St. Baldrick’s is doing.  “The objective is not to get everyone to donate, but to help spread the word. I hope you will tell everyone you know (about St. Baldrick’s). Every donation counts, but I only ask that you help the cause,” said Manzo.

David Manzo graduated from Abington High School in 2013 and was a South Shore League all star on the Super Bowl Champion Football Team. He recently began his college career at the University of New Hampshire majoring in Sociology and Justice Studies.  Manzo is in the Air Force ROTC and in the candidacy process of the Arnold Air Society, a service organization that is affiliated with Air Force ROTC.  He intends to enlist in the Air National Guard which will require him to attend basic training and technical school this summer. Manzo joined the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at UNH where he was chosen for the Recruitment Board.
