14 Abington Students Chosen for SEMSBA
Auditions drew in over 1000 students from 30 schools

On Saturday, Feb. 1, auditions were held for SEMSBA at Abington Middle/High School. Fourteen students accepted into five different ensembles for both the Jr. and Sr. SEMSBA Music Festivals.
It was a very successful day hosting the auditions at 201 Gliniewicz in which over 1000 students participated from approximately 30 schools.

Abington’s Director of Music and Drama Mr. Steve Shannon said that he was proud “that they [the students] will be representing Abington in these music festivals.”
Shannon added that, “It was a very successful day hosting the auditions at 201 Gliniewicz in which over 1000 students participated from approximately 30 schools.”
On Friday, Jan. 31, students assisted Mr. Shannon by setting up the audition rooms. Music parents also helped out. Mr. Shannon was pleased with not only the results of the auditions, but also the work from the staff. Shannon said he “would like to commend the Music Staff for their hard work and dedication in preparing the students for the audition, as well as for helping to make the day run smoothly.”
