The Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) Club at Abington High asked faculty, staff, and students to don purple on Oct. 18 to show support for the LGBTQ community and to take a stand against bullying.

Following this there will also be a Heart Challenge sponsored by the GSA. Students who want to participate can post purple, paper hearts with positive and anti-bullying messages along a paper fence in the cafeteria.

On Nov. 1 and 2 at 7:30, the AHS Drama Club will present The Laramie Project at the high school. Mr. Shannon, the Drama Adviser, stated “The students in the Drama Club and the GSA are invested in bringing awareness surrounding  the issues of tolerance, diversity and understanding related to bullying and hate based crimes against the LGBTQ community.”
