The third Night at the Museum movie (“Secret of the Tomb”) finally arrived in theaters last December, and it certainly lives up to expectations from the previous two releases. In this new story, Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) finds that the tablet of Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek) has started to wear away causing many problems for the museum exhibits. So, where do they go to find out what to do? London! During this adventurous and family oriented movie, Larry deals with works on borrowed time to save his museum friends while also dealing with Nicky, his a teenaged son who wants to work as a DJ instead of going to college.

Unlike previous movies in the series, this one allows each of the main characters to have their own spotlight in at least one scene. This was a great idea from director Shawn Levy, as it showed character development and set it apart from the other Night at the Museum movies. This was Robin William’s (Theodore Roosevelt) last live movie performance before he died last year. There also was a bigger role for Skyler Gisondo (Nick Daley). Jedediah and Octavius (played by Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan) accidentally got separated from the group and have their own adventure. Sir Lancelot (Dan Stevens IV) was in the movie for the first time, and he fits nicely into the characters team dynamic, all while the others finally got to know the story behind Ahkmenrah and his tablet.

“Secret of the Tomb” also included a cameo from a famous male actor who will not be named, as it would be a big spoiler, but (hint, hint) he plays a very famous Marvel character. The actors overall did amazing. The characters were funny, and it wasn’t all about one person. They all shared in the action.

“Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” is very enjoyable. It ties up loose ends from previous versions, has a fresh story line, and is full of adventure and interesting plot lines.
