Basic Vacation

From New York City to Pennsylvania, Basic Vacation, the trio and newest boy band, had it rough from the start. Through determination, hard work, and talent they made it to where they are today. Chris Greatti (lead vocal and guitarist), Jon Paul (bassist), and Mike Montalbano (drummer), do not come from famous or wealthy families. As a result the start of Basic Vacation was no walk in the park. They showed just how determined they were going from “…scraping by and stealing from convenience stores just so we could eat”  [Jon Paul] to catching Atom Factory Music’s (a label founded by Lady Gaga and John Legend) attention. That connection eventually led to the release of their first EP, the self titled “Basic Vacation.” With an EP like this, Basic Vacation is on the path to becoming the next big thing.

“I Believe” is the first song on the EP, and the one critics are raving about. With its catchy,  although somewhat repetitive lyrics. it is sure to be Basic Vacations first hit. MostlyJunkfood.com, a pop music blog had this to say about the song, “With a song like this, Basic Vacation is destined to catapult into people’s consciousness sooner rather than later. … ‘I Believe’ …will leave you addicted to its fizzy goodness.”  Although “I Believe” has an upbeat and care free aura to it, once focusing in on the lyrics one will come to realize that Basic Vacation did not just write another pointless summertime hit. “I Believe’ was written about never giving up on a relationship, even when all the odds are against it.

“Jamie” and “Worlds Collide” are also songs featured on the EP, showcasing the boy’s talents. This EP won’t be the last of Basic Vacation,. Expect to hear a lot more about them as they continue their path to stardom.
